Quality, both in the digital world and physical are pretty much the same. To make it easier to relate, we’ve gone with real life examples below. Actual physical things, but what we want to highlight is that the same concept also applies to the digital world.
Quality is the standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind; the degree of excellence of something. From buying clothes, property and food everyone wants quality although at times we do not afford it always. When it comes to construction of buildings quality is not a question it is a requirement and companies do quality control to ensure that their services are of high standards always. For example, when getting a new house, you want it to have the strongest frame available to hold it and the best floors available although quality does not come cheap always.
Quality is the only thing that will give you value value for money as you get to keep the property for a long time. Quality allows you to have some warrantees and guarantees and insurance that can cover you if anything happens to your property. No company will give you maximum warrantee on some poor-quality property as they know they will have to pay in no time. Quality is usually strong for example a house made out of quality material will last longer will with stand all the weather conditions compared to a poorly constructed house. I used cheap replica materials for my first house and will forever regret this decision as the materials looked the same but the quality compromised a lot as within a year the walls have started chipping. After two years tried claiming on warrantee and realised most products had a short warranty. I was heartbroken as I had to replace everything. This taught me that no matter how cheap it looks or costs it comes with a hidden price.
Buying or getting your quality once will save you from fees such as maintenance fees as high quality projects only require minimum repair and they are often covered by insurance and warrantees. Imagine staying in a house with a falling ceiling, you don’t know when it is going to fall but surely you know it will be sometime within that same year. For example, high quality windows can stay more than 10 years with no repair and quality glass is not easily broken compared to the cheap poor quality.
Although quality comes with a price but in fact it is cheaper for the reasons given above. Most quality products can be resold for great value but cheap poor quality things can only be used by one person because of their short life span. So, if you build your house with cheap quality for example your house will have not much value.
Quality promotes comfort. What’s the whole point of getting something that is not comfortable. For example, when getting shoes, the most comfortable shoes are the most expensive, this applies to construction too. Building your house in steel frame may be expensive than timber but think of the expansion of material thin of the termites and all measures you must take. Think in long term you will realise quality is always the best especially in construction and should never be compromised.
